Post-detonation fireball modeling: Validation of freeze out approximations

چکیده
A numerical simulation study was performed to examine the post-detonation reaction processes produced by detonation of a 12 mm diameter hemispherical pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN) explosive charge. The simulations used finite rate detailed chemical model consisting 59 species and 368 reactions capture including air dissociation from Mach 19+ shock waves that initially break out PETN charge, within products during expansion, afterburning when mix with heated air. multi-species thermodynamically complete Becker–Kistiakowsky–Wilson real-gas equation state is for gaseous phase allow mixing reactive species. recent simplified burn propagate through charge processes. computed blast, structures, mole fractions agree well experimental measurements. comparison results equilibrium calculations indicates assumption local fairly accurate until rapidly cool temperatures in range 1500–1900 K expansion waves. Below this range, show are nearly chemically frozen significant portion expansion. These consistent freeze approximation blast modeling community.

Dynamics and Sizes of the Fireball at Freeze-out∗
Analyzing the m⊥-spectrum and two-particle correlations of negative hadrons from 158 AGeV/c Pb+Pb collisions at slightly forward rapidities we find a (thermal) freeze-out temperature of about 100 MeV and transverse flow with v̄⊥ ≈ 0.55c. The M⊥-dependence of the correlation radii prefers a box-like transverse density profile over a Gaussian. From an analysis of the pion phase-space density we fi...
متن کاملNon-equilibrated post freeze out distributions
We discuss freeze out on the hypersurface with time-like normal vector, trying to answer how realistic is to assume thermal post freeze out distributions for measured hadrons. Using simple kinetic models for gradual freeze out we are able to generate thermal post FO distribution, but only in highly simplified situation. In a more advanced model, taking into account rescattering and re-thermaliz...
متن کاملFreeze-out dynamics at RHIC
Investigation of the final hadronic state properties of ultrarelativistics pp and Au+Au collisions supplies information on freeze-out conditions at RHIC and possible insights into early stages of these collisions. A variety of particle spectra measured by STAR are studied within the framework of chemical and local kinetic equlibrium models. Here we present the extracted chemical and final kinet...
متن کاملFreeze-out configuration in multifragmentation
The excitation energy and the nuclear density at the time of breakup are extracted for the α + Au reaction at beam energies of 1 and 3.6 GeV/nucleon. These quantities are calculated from the average relative velocity of intermediate mass fragments (IMF) at large correlation angles as a function of the multiplicity of IMFs using a statistical model coupled with many-body Coulomb trajectory calcu...
متن کاملContinuous decoupling and freeze-out∗
The decoupling and freeze-out of energetic nuclear collisions is analysed in terms of transparent semi-classical decoupling formulae. They provide a smooth transition and generalise frequently employed instantaneous freeze-out procedures. Simple relations between the damping width and the duration of the decoupling process are presented and the implications on various physical phenomena arising...
